Patterns Redux

"If nature is flux, culture is pattern--something sufficiently fixed and distinctive to be consciously sensed and appreciated." -Yi-Fu Tuan

My last newsletter resulted in a healthy barrage of images from readers. The photos of patterns ranged from beef in Las Vegas to bark in Africa, and the quality was quite extraordinary. Click here for a highly edited selection. Thank you to all of you who took the time to send these into me. Receiving feedback like this is a nice pattern in itself. Credit Howard Meister for the superb photos of the Eggs and for the Peppercorns and Rice in the landing page. Given the interest in this subject, I have included link to the work of photographer Michael Wolfe. His stunning images of Hong Kong architecture help to keep us amateur photographers in our place as well as provide a unique lens to view one aspect of modernism.

Hi Rob,

Read about your new blog from SJ Mercury news.

My wife and I bought a bed from DWR few years ago after searching for a modern and simple bed for months (surprisingly how hard they are to find...)

Looking forward to reading more about your adventures.
